Hello my name is Bryan Kehoe, leader and founder of the band Kehoe International. I am really good at pickin’ that guitar, and sangin’ my kooky songs, but not so good at writing boring, lame bios about my music.
From the ashes of The Kehoe Nation:
Over the last few years I recorded and self-released 2 LPs “Music for Livers” and “Devil’s Acre Overture” under this moniker. These recordings were co-produced by, recording legend Oz Fritz (Tom Waits, The Ramones, Primus). I never really liked the name of the band; it was kind of a joke, So… I changed it! Kehoe Int’l sounds more… authentic. Like it could be traded on the NYSE.
I spent a good amount of time playing in the esoteric SF independent band M.I.R.V. We toured all over the world and even got on the MTV, when they actually played music. I toured with Jerry Cantrell Band (Alice in Chains) for a couple of years. I also have been in and out of my friend Les Claypool’s band The Frog Brigade. Les and I and few other friends did a movie and album “National Lampoon’s Electric Apricot”, and the last couple of years we toured all over in Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang. The “Duo” recorded an LP called “4 Foot Shack” that got high reviews on NPR that my Mom heard on the radio, and all of of sudden… I am legit in her eyes! Ha! Only took decades…
The sound and style of Kehoe Int’l can be explained as a unique pastiche of elements; the bombast of guitar hero Rock, the rebellion and aggressiveness of Punk and Metal, the whimsy of Oompah and Polka, with just a pinch of Avant Garde, all honoring the Roots of Americana music. I call it Garage-Twang!

- OutOfSystemTransfer (Gonzo Anti-folk Punk Rock Radical Leftist Hootenanny, from Brooklyn, NYC) [facebook.com/pg/OutOfSystemTransfer] [outofsystemtransfer.com] [outofsystemtransfer.bandcamp.com]. There’s always been a New York City kind of protest music—delivered with a balled up fist and a shit-eating grin. Now, carrying on that banner of righteous weirdness, here comes Out of System Transfer, the city’s much-needed gonzo anti-folk punk rock radical leftist hootenanny. Their funny and fierce tunes, like “I Shot President McKinley (and I’ll do it again and again),” “Stop Bloomberg, Frisk Kelly (and all the pigs can suck eggs in hell),” and “June 1969”–a tribute to the Stonewall riots–make no concessions on their political leanings. w. "Make Mine Neat", "Last Dogs in Alaska", "June, 1969"
- Wayfairy (of Oakland) [facebook.com/wayfairy] [wayfairy.bandcamp.com]. Wayfairy started with a banjo on the turnpike and has grown into a six piece music project that fills the sonic space between mournful folk and riotous punk. w. "Song For Ricky"
- Ludlow (Folk Punk, of Portland) [facebook.com/ludlowband] [ludlowmassacre.bandcamp.com]. Formed after the 100th anniversary of the massacre in Ludlow, CO, "one of the most bitter and violent struggles between workers and corporate capital in the history of the country." We make music about the issues that we think are important. w. "Window Shopping", "Song from the Kitchen Cupboard"
- DawnRiding (Folk) [dawnriding.bandcamp.com]. Folk music trio bringing a raw emotionally rich sound for long nights and longing, dirt roads and slow dancing, legends and laying low.
- Forgetmenauts (of Berkeley) [facebook.com/the.forgetmenauts]. Years from now, history books will remember The Forgetmenauts as pioneers in the culturally iconic futurepunk-folk-sex-dirtcore genre. Their sound has been described using words like "complex" and "slay." Come for the clever band name, stay for the songs about werewolves, vampires, fox brides and devil daughters. And the distortion. Ugh you're gonna love the distortion.
